Washington, D.C., needs disciplined financial solutions
Consider tax increases, spending reductions
Thanks so much for featuring Bruce Ramsey’s column, “Money from nothing? D. C. politicians need to toughen up” [Opinion, Jan. 16]. It is astonishing that so many otherwise intelligent people take seriously such a ludicrous idea.
In addition to tax increases, we badly need some modest spending reductions. What would we think about someone who’s constantly looking for a new loan in order to make the next mortgage payment?
