Seattle Police Department accused of violence
Department needs to be held responsible
Another instance of an overly aggressive Seattle police officer has become public [“Video shows cop’s threatening move against handcuffed man,” NWFriday, Jan. 11]. Because of many such examples, the city of Seattle will spend millions in the next several years to retrain, reorganize and otherwise make its police department act responsibly, all with expensive federal oversight.
Really, Mr. Mayor — how much effort does it take to order your police officers to stop beating and shooting people? And why haven’t you already done so?
