ASPCA pays $9 million to circus
Animal cruelty exists
The news that the ASPCA will have to pay $9 million to crooks like Ringling Bros. made me sick to my stomach [“Circus owners win $9 million from ASPCA,” News, Dec. 28]. I hope everyone will note the huge difference between the former employee having no legal standing to bring the lawsuit and the case itself having no merit.
I have seen some of the materials on which this case was based and they were hard to watch, hard to hear, hard to know. The abuse exists, regardless of the technicality that allowed Ringling to be, in effect, rewarded for it.
