Zoo elephants' welfare raises concerns

Need for public awareness

Thank you so much for all that The Seattle Times is doing for those elephants [“Elephants are dying out in America’s zoos,” News, Dec. 1]. Hopefully with support for elephants and public awareness, those intelligent and sensible animals will have a chance to a fair assessment and finally be able to retire to a kinder place.

I applaud The Seattle Times for making the public aware of this.
