Government benefits for corporations

Quiet acceptance by citizenry
Blowing the whistle on corporate rip-offs” [Opinion, Dec. 16] is regarding states and localities giving $80 billion a year in incentives to corporations for “promises” of jobs in their areas.

It is indeed grand larceny on the part of corporations and bribery on the part of states — ours included. And, saddest of all, quiet acceptance, and even encouragement, on the part of the citizenry.
