FAA accepts commercial flights at Paine Field
Broken promises
It's predictable that most commenters who applaud commercial flights at Paine Field don't live near the airport or glide path [“Cleared for takeoff: airlines at Paine Field,” page one, Dec. 5]. They are willing to accept the FAA report as gospel, since there is no impact on them personally.
I would ask them to visit the towns near the airport and listen to the noise and vibration emanating from the flights that use the airport now. This would be an all-day occurrence with commercial flights.
Many of us spent $250,000 to $500,000 on homes we were promised would never be subject to all of the negatives that come with commercial flights.
The airline companies, which now say there will only be a few flights a week, admit that this could increase. In other words, they will schedule as many flights as they can, based upon ticket sales. This is a bad idea.
