Striving toward the Seattle Center's vision
More effective tax spending needed
In response to “Seattle Center’s potential has not been fulfilled” by Albert Shen, I tend to agree with his observation that the city has ineffective leaders. I believe that these leaders are not spending the tax dollars in the most effective manner.
The money is not being spent to improve new and existing infrastructure like Seattle Center, but to promote areas of special interest. For instance, the painting of bike emblems all over our streets does little to improve bike safety and the money could be used for maintenance of our streets or for installation of crosswalks and signals. These improvements would benefit more Seattle citizens.
This money, in my opinion, is not being spent where it is needed most. It could be used in a countless number of places that would improve our city as well as the safety of all people not just bikers. This tax money needs to be spent in a more effective manner.
