Murray stands firm on 'fiscal cliff'

Democrats will blame GOP
It is once again the administration hiding behind another woman to promote the agenda of President Obama [“Murray won’t back down on ‘fiscal cliff,’” page one, Dec. 3]. If it fails and people really understand that taxing is the only plan the Democrats have put forth, guess who will take the blame?

Last time I looked, Sen. Patty Murray did not have a degree in economics. Everyone knows what a budget means. Cuts from Medicare in the billions then passed on to implement Obamacare don't count.

“Tax and spend, spend, spend” is the motto of the Democratic Party. It is apparent to me that the Democrats intended to tax everyone from the beginning then blame it on the GOP.

—Jeanne Wolfstone, Bellevue
