KING-TV ends "Up Front" citing cutbacks
Great loss to Seattle area
I sadly watched the final program of “Up Front” on Channel 5 Sunday morning [“A disappointing end to insightful “Up Front,” Editorials, Dec. 3].
KING-TV management says that it is not because of ratings but a matter of expense. It is shameful that KING-TV’s news department has over more than 20 hours of local news each week plus more on weekends and can't find cost savings enough to continue the weekly half-hour of “Up Front.”
It is the only program on any of our local TV stations that addresses local and state issues in a fair and balanced way. It is a great loss to our area.
