Need for investigation of Benghazi and Obama administration

I applaud U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder's determination to hold BP accountable for the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster and its aftermath [“BP to pay $4.5 billion, execs charged in oil spill,” page one, Nov. 16].

Of the 11 workers killed, he said, “Those deaths were unnecessary.” Asst. Attorney General Lanny Breuer was quoted saying the BP Corporation placed “profit over prudence.” Prosecutors said BP supervisors failed to take necessary steps to prevent the blowout and then lied to Congress about the size and severity of the spill.

I look forward to Holder pursuing a similarly rigorous investigation of the Obama administration over the debacle in Benghazi that cost four Americans their lives. After all, it seems that the Obama administration failed to take the necessary steps to prevent the attack or protect our citizens from the attack once it began. They then proceeded to lie to the American people about the attack, placing blame on an Internet video instead of on the terrorists who killed our citizens and the responsible members of the administration who failed to have adequate security in place.

Those four deaths were also unnecessary and a case can be made that the Obama administration put politics over prudence in their handling of the situation before, during, and after the attack.

I'm not holding my breath.
