Merchants unhappy with seven-year seawall reconstruction plan
Property owners are lucky
These merchants and property owners are fortunate to have the taxpayers pick up the tab for improving and increasing the value of their property [“Merchants ‘livid’ over seawall plan,” page one, Nov. 14].
My waterfront bulkhead needs restoring but I don't expect the taxpayers to foot the bill if I could even get the [Department of Ecology] people to allow it.
— Charles Hodson, Federal Way
Merchants will not suffer
I live in Belltown on Second Avenue. I voted against the seawall repairs. I want waterfront property.
Those poor merchants, who now have such property, now will suffer. Save them from their misery.
— David Clifton, Seattle
