No excuse for laziness

I take issue with Bruce Ramsey's opinion about having the right to complain if you didn't vote [“Even if you didn’t vote, you still have the right to complain,” Opinion, Nov. 7].

If one doesn't participate in our representative democracy by voting, what separates us from a dictatorship? Sure, you can complain in North Korea and the like but you are liable to be thrown in prison.

I am tired of people complaining that they do not have enough information to develop a strong belief about a particular candidate. We live in an age when information is readily available from a multitude of sources. There is no excuse for laziness.

Mitt Romney and Barack Obama offered stark differences about how this country should be governed and, thankfully, the right one was elected. Those who believe that the two major candidates and/or parties are just alike are simply uninformed.

If you wish to remain ignorant, fine. Please do not vote.
