Postelection: GOP self-examination

Tough sell

“Analysis: ‘Some kind of war’ coming within GOP” says GOP strategists and activists believed they had offered “a message of economic opportunism and fiscal restraint” [seattletimes.com, Nov. 6].

Hogwash. What was offered was tax relief for the very wealthy. All else was window-dressing. That was too tough a sell — and it didn't.
