The Times calls for policy leash on police drones
Waste of money
It is ludicrous to think drone cameras that can be up only 10 minutes will help with crime. Personally, they can drone over me all day, but it is the cost, maintenance and operation that are a waste of scarce money they are so anxious to spend.
I can see it now, in how many crashes there will be with inept flying, maxed out time or possible damage being charged to the city.
We would do better with personal cameras at every incident of breaking the law. Or apply the costs toward the training and keeping one or two more officers that are badly needed.
