Obama administration accused of targeting and intimidating in campaign
Accusing the wrong person
If anyone should be accused of negative campaigning, it should be Mitt Romney; I guess Michael Gerson was not following the Romney campaign during the presidential primaries [“Obama’s campaign betrayal,” Opinion, Aug. 18].
In addition, Gerson must feel that Romney’s constant lies about President Obama and the lavishly funded PACs that are running negative ads on his behalf do not constitute negativity in the extreme. The far right has been making ugly, dishonest and mean-spirited political ads for years, so why does Gerson feel so betrayed by President Obama beginning to give back as good as he gets? Interesting how short some people’s memories are.
