Annual Torchlight Parade celebrates Seafair
Illegal and unethical Torchlight Parade
On Saturday, July 28, the Torchlight Parade was authorized by the city of Seattle; this was illegal, unethical and caused many injuries [“Dazzling night of Torchlight,” NWSunday, July 29].
Many streets were closed, the severe police blockades restricted commerce and daily life and I personally witnessed many injuries caused by both politically induced anarchist violence, police brutality and various auto accidents.
The city of Seattle is an organization for the people — and this individual’s personal liberty was restricted. I got locked down in gridlock and was unable to complete a business deal as a result. This restricts my legal right to do commerce. I also narrowly escaped personal injury caused by a riot I witnessed on the streets, and my car was almost hit by another in the chaos.
I now view the city of Seattle as a poor choice for a place to do business and reside in.
