Attorney-general debate
We need better candidates
After my first reading of this article [“Attorney-general candidates come out slugging in debate,” NWWednesday, June 13], I was laughing at how the two candidates defined their “competence” to assume the role of attorney general.
After a second reading, I was dismayed.
If these are the “top two candidates,” as defined by the Association of Washington Business, our political system is in deep trouble. It is past time for Washington citizens to endorse and elect public officials on real skill and competence rather than “name” recognition or their ability to use financial influence to further their political careers.
