GOP staffer Mike Hoover seeks $1.75M from state
Senate Republicans must resolve issue
As a former legislative staffer in the other Washington, I am most empathetic to the concerns expressed by Mike Hoover over the Republicans in the state Senate allowing Sen. Pam Roach back into their caucus. [“GOP staffer seeks $1.75M from state,” page one, April 5.]
It may well be that Hoover’s $1.75 million claim is justified. But I most definitely do not agree that the cost of this claim should be shouldered by all taxpayers in the state. This seems to be a problem that is exclusively within the power of the Senate Republicans to address and resolve.
Accordingly, doesn’t it make sense that any monetary damages from it should be absorbed solely by Republicans and not by the rest of us?
