Former Huskies Ryan Appleby & Jamaal Williams talk hoops | Chat Transcript

Ryan Appleby

Jamaal Williams

In the 2005-06 season, the Washington Huskies compiled a 26-7 record and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and the fourth time in school history.

Two players who played integral roles for UW that year were guard Ryan Appleby and forward Jamaal Williams. Appleby came off the bench as the Huskies' sixth man and averaged 7.9 ppg while Williams was a regular starter and contributed 13.8 ppg.

Both players helped Washington win its first two games of the NCAA Tournament which set up a Sweet 16 showdown against Connecticut. Despite a career-high 27 points from Williams, UW's postseason run ended with a heartbreaking 98-92 overtime loss to UConn in Washington, D.C.

Appleby and Williams talked about their careers, this year's Huskies and more in a live chat March 24.
