Highlights of a live chat with NBA player Martell Webster, a former star at Seattle Prep.

Question: Who is the toughest player you've had to defend in the NBA?

Webster: I'd say Kobe Bryant.

Q: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard a fan say during a game?

Webster: We were in Utah, when I was with the Blazers, and Darius Miles was at the free-throw line and someone yelled out, "Flava flav."

Q: Do you stay in touch with the UW guys, like Nate (Robinson), Brockman, Hawes, etc.?

Webster: Yes, I'm able to follow guys on Twitter and see how they're doing through direct message, so I stay in touch with them.

Q: How stressful is it to be an NBA free agent? Do you lose sleep over what your future is?

Webster: No, I don't lose sleep over what my future is. It's hard when you have a family, especially for my oldest, you have to get her enrolled in school and you don't know where you are, so that's probably the most stressful part. But no, basketball isn't my life — I still have business beyond the basketball court.

Q: Do you think the NBA will be back in Seattle? Have you been following the arena debate? Any thoughts on that?

Webster: I do think a team will be back in Seattle. It was a mighty blow to the heart of all the fans in Seattle when the team was moved. This city deserves a team because the fans really love and support all sports in this city. To have the Sonics come back I see happening in the short future.

Q: Looking back on leaving early for the NBA, do you think you made the right decision? In other words, do you ever think about what might have been had you played at UW?

Webster: I think about that all the time. I think about what it would have been like to play a year with ... Nate Robinson and Brandon Roy, kind of reliving that game that they lost against (Louisville). Might have been a different outcome had I been on the team.
