Rewind: Live chat with Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes
Former Washington Husky center Spencer Hawes just completed his fifth season in the NBA. A first-round pick (No. 10 overall) by the Sacramento Kings in the 2007 draft, Hawes was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on June 17, 2010, in a three-player deal.
A Seattle Prep grad, he led the Panthers to the 2006 3A state championship and was named a McDonald's All-American.
Hawes played one season at UW -- averaging 14.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 1.74 bpg -- before declaring for the NBA draft.
In five pro seasons with the Kings and 76ers, he has averaged 8.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
Hawes answered questions in a live chat June 21 on seattletimes.com.
