Kyle Weaver, who helped turn around the Washington State basketball program, was drafted Thursday by the Charlotte Bobcats in the second round of the NBA draft.
Weaver, a 6-foot-6 guard, was the 38th overall selection.
Weaver was the ninth of 12 Pac-10 players chosen. The others:
USC guard O.J. Mayo (No. 3, Minnesota, traded to Memphis), UCLA guard Russell Westbrook (4, Sonics), UCLA center Kevin Love (5, Memphis, traded to Minnesota), Stanford centers Brook Lopez (10, New Jersey) and Robin Lopez (15, Phoenix), Arizona guard Jerryd Bayless (11, Indiana, traded to Portland), California forward Ryan Anderson (21, New Jersey), UCLA forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (37, Milwaukee), Oregon guard Malik Hairston (48, Phoenix), Cal center DeVon Hardin (50, Sonics), and Oregon forward Maarty Leunen (54, Houston).
Weaver, an all-conference player, averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a senior last season.
Weaver and fellow seniors Derrick Low and Robbie Cowgill led the Cougars to back-to-back NCAA tournament berths.
