JERUSALEM —

The Israeli military says Gaza militants have fired four rockets toward Israel, resuming an onslaught after a lull overnight.

The projectiles fired Thursday caused no damage. They came a day after the largest rocket barrage from Gaza since 2012, when Israel launched an eight-day air campaign to stop the attacks.

The military said Gaza militants fired more than 40 rockets at Israel on Wednesday.

Three were intercepted by Israel's "Iron Dome" missile defense system and eight hit populated areas, setting off air-raid sirens and sending people into shelters. Israel responded with airstrikes on 29 Gaza militant targets. There were no casualties on either side.

The attacks come during a visit by British Prime Minister David Cameron. Israel is to hold consultations later Thursday on a response to the rocket fire.
