PITTSBURGH —

A fired Pittsburgh high school teacher who got tattoos in a failed attempt to discredit two students who claimed he had sexual contact with them has been sentenced to three to 10 years in prison.

Michael White lost his job at Perry Traditional Academy after police charged him last February. He was sentenced Monday.

White initially denied the girls' allegations. The victims had told investigators they didn't see tattoos on White when the 31-year-old teacher allegedly had sexual contact with them in late 2012.

Allegheny County prosecutors found a tattoo artist who confirmed White got the tattoos after the encounters. He pleaded guilty in November to fondling the 15-year-old and having sex with the 16-year-old.

White also made the 16-year-old perform lap dances for male students.
