SEATTLE —

After a mostly dry, cold spell, forecasters say a normal wet weather pattern is returning to Washington.

Rain is spreading across Western Washington Thursday, and a chance of showers will continue into next week.

The National Weather Service says the system will bring snow to the mountains with about 6 inches expected by Thursday night in the Cascade passes.

Forecasters expect a chance of rain or snow through the weekend in Eastern Washington with high temperatures in the 30s and lows in the 20s.

In Western Washington, high temperatures should be in the 40s and lows in the 30s.
