AMMAN, Jordan —

President Barack Obama says he'll "keep on plugging away" in hopes of getting the Israelis and Palestinians to reach a peace agreement.

Obama says the window of opportunity for such a deal still exists, but he says it's getting more and more difficult with each passing day.

The president says mistrust between the two sides is building instead of ebbing.

Obama spoke Friday during a news conference in Amman, Jordan, with King Abdullah II.
