GRAY, Ky. —

A Kentucky coroner says two adults and five children were killed in a house fire in a rural southeastern Kentucky community.

Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins said Saturday that the names of the deceased were not being immediately released. Blevins said officials were trying to confirm the identities.

Blevins and Kentucky State Police say the cause of the blaze in the Gray community near Corbin remained under investigation.

Troopers say someone called Knox County 911 about the fire at 9:57 a.m. Eastern time Saturday. Firefighters remained at the scene battling the blaze for hours.
