The daughters of Iran's opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi say they've been denied contact with their parents for about two months.

Mousavi and other opposition leaders led massive street rallies in the aftermath of the 2009 election to protest official election results that declared President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the winner. Opposition supporters alleged voter fraud, but their protest was crushed by security forces.

Mousavi's daughters say security agents were present the last time their parents were allowed to meet with their family, which prevented them from speaking freely.

The daughters' comments were in a statement posted Saturday on the opposition website, Kaleme.

They called for the unconditional release of their parents.

Mousavi and another opposition leader, Mahdi Karroubi, were placed under house arrest in February 2011.
