The former president of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity is expected back in court Friday outside Atlanta to ask a judge to reinstate him as head of the nation's oldest black Greek letter organization.

Attorneys for Herman "Skip" Mason filed a request for a temporary restraining order in DeKalb County Superior Court against the fraternity. Mason has six months left to serve on his term.

He's suing the organization over what he says was his unfair ouster in April over allegations of financial mismanagement. According to the complaint, Mason was removed as the organization's 33rd general president earlier this year after questions arose regarding use of fraternity funds for dependent care and tuition.

Mason has denied wrongdoing and says he's made arrangements to reimburse Alpha Phi Alpha.
