Syria's state-run TV says a suicide bomber has struck the National Security building in Damascus during a meeting of Cabinet ministers and senior security officials, seriously wounding some of the officials.
There was no immediate word on the identities or numbers of casualties in Wednesday's explosion.
The blast comes as the capital has seen four straight days of clashes pitting government troops against rebels, who are trying to bring down the regime by force.
