PHOENIX —

President Barack Obama has called Gov. Jan Brewer to express his concern for residents affected by Arizona wildfires.

Brewer's office said later that the president pledged to provide all federal resources necessary to the state to help contain the wildfires. The 525-square-mile blaze in the White Mountains is the second-largest fire in state history.

The Republican governor says she told Obama about concerns regarding delayed information from federal disaster officials about what's happening in the eastern Arizona mountain communities.

The president told Brewer he will work with federal officials to help iron out any problems related to a lack or delay of communication.

Another major fire in southeastern Arizona has burned 181 square miles and destroyed 14 buildings since it started May 8.
