Philippine ex-president faces plunder case
A lawyer has filed a plunder complaint against former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for allegedly using overseas Filipino workers' funds to boost her election campaign.

A lawyer has filed a plunder complaint against former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for allegedly using overseas Filipino workers' funds to boost her election campaign.
Former Solicitor General Frank Chavez claimed Tuesday that Arroyo ordered the diversion of about 530 million pesos ($12.3 million) managed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to pay for the distribution of health cards with her image during the 2004 presidential election.
The Justice Department will determine if there is enough evidence for an indictment.
Arroyo has in the past denied any wrongdoing. She was elected to the House of Representatives last year but continues to be dogged by allegations of corruption and misrule.
