OSWEGO, N.Y. —

A central New York woman has been sentenced to prison for the death of her 9-month-old daughter, who was left inside a camper during 90-degree weather last summer.

Sara Landers of Fulton pleaded guilty last month to criminally negligent homicide.

WSYR-TV in Syracuse and cable news station YNN report that the 22-year-old Landers was sentenced Friday to 1 1/3 to four years in prison.

Oswego County authorities say Reba Jean Barton died from the extreme heat inside the closed camper after being left alone for about two hours on July 5. The camping trailer was in the town of Volney, 23 miles northwest of Syracuse.

WSYR reports that Landers went swimming and left her daughter in the camper while temperatures outside topped 90 degrees.
