Four plead guilty over incident at Sen. Landrieu's office

The conservative provocateur James O'Keefe and three other men have pleaded guilty in federal court in New Orleans to a misdemeanor in a scheme in which they posed as telephone repairmen in Sen. Mary Landrieu's New Orleans office.

Magistrate Daniel Knowles III sentenced O'Keefe, 25, on Wednesday to three years of probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,500 fine. His fellow defendants, Joseph Basel, Stan Dai and Robert Flanagan, were given lesser sentences of two years of probation, 75 hours of community service and $1,500 fines.

Two of the men entered the office of Landrieu, a Democrat, on Jan. 25, pretending to be telephone repairmen, one wearing a hidden video camera on his hard hat. O'Keefe was also in the office pretending to wait for a friend, but secretly recording the interaction, and another man was waiting outside. All four were arrested and eventually charged with entering federal property under false pretenses, a misdemeanor.

O'Keefe gained fame for a video that embarrassed the ACORN community-organizing group.
