A southeast Kansas school board member has been charged with firing a gun at a neighbor's house.
A southeast Kansas school board member has been charged with firing a gun at a neighbor's house.
Sixty-eight-year-old William Van Cleave is charged in Cherokee County with aggravated assault, obstruction, endangering a child and two counts of criminal threat.
He was arrested Monday night after authorities allege he used a gun to fire a single shot toward the neighbor's house southeast of Galena. Children were inside the home at the time.
Van Cleave is a member of the Galena school board and a former elementary school principal, teacher and coach.
