ODESSA, Texas —

A man police suspected in a restaurant robbery and the sexual assault of one of the restaurant's employeees has been found dead in an Odessa hotel.

A worker at the hotel found the body of Anthony Carter Tuesday morning. Hotel manager Hash Patel said Carter checked in Monday afternoon.

Police Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said there were no signs of foul play and the cause of death had not been determined.

The Odessa American reported that one of Carter's cousins talked to him on Monday and Carter told him he wouldn't be seeing him again.

Police said a woman reported just after noon Monday that a man robbed the restaurant where she worked, kidnapped her and sexually assaulted her before taking her car. The car was found abandoned early Tuesday.
