Official: Argentine economy minister resigning

Argentine Economy Minister Martin Lousteau has resigned, a government official told The Associated Press Thursday.

The official is close to the Economy Ministry, but asked not to be identified further because he is not authorized to speak on behalf of the government and the announcement is not yet official.

In an interview with the AP early Friday, the official said Argentine tax agency chief Carlos Fernandez is expected to succeed Lousteau.
