If there is any group that can hurl the spirit heavenward faster and more ecstatically than Robert Randolph and the Family Band, it’s news to me. On their latest album, “Lickety Split,” this for-real family group — Robert, Marcus and Lenesha Randolph and Danyel Morgan, plus non-Randolph clan Brett Haas — take a turn toward a harder rock sound and a New Orleans party beat. But when those curling, crying pedal steel phrases arrive on “Born Again” and “Get Ready,” you know you’re back in the bosom of Abraham. Don't miss this band. 9 p.m. Friday at the Neptune Theatre, 1303 N.E. 45th St., Seattle; $25 (877-784-4849 or www.stgpresents.org).
