"The Pirates! Band of Misfits" (PG): From the stop-motion wizards at Aardman ("Chicken Run," "Wallace and Gromit") comes this "jolly tale of ambition, science and dodos on the high seas," says Seattle Times movie critic Moira Macdonald. Hugh Grant voices the Pirate Captain, whose "plummy tones perfectly suit a luxuriantly bearded pirate plagued by self-doubt."

"Monsieur Lazhar" (PG-13, subtitled): Mohamed Saïd Fellag stars in this Oscar-nominated French-Canadian drama about a 55-year-old refugee who takes a job as a sixth-grade substitute teacher after a Montreal instructor commits suicide in her classroom.

"Think Like a Man" (PG-13): Four men and four women look for love, with advice from a self-help book. The cast includes Taraji P. Henson, Michael Ealy and Gabrielle Union.

"Battleship" (PG-13): Director Peter Berg's blockbuster, based on the popular board game, pits the U.S. Navy against rampaging space aliens. Taylor Kitsch moves to the forefront as humanity's last hope.

"The Lucky One" (PG-13): An ex-soldier (Zac Efron) tracks down an unknown woman (Taylor Schilling) whose photograph he credits for saving his life in Iraq. Based on a Nicholas Sparks novel.

"Darling Companion" (PG-13): A lost-dog tale starring Kevin Kline and Diane Keaton.

"The Highest Pass" (not rated): This documentary follows eight spiritual seekers as they ride their motorcycles through the Himalayas.
