Animated creatures big and small ("The Lorax," "Mia and the Migoo") lead Tuesday's new DVD releases. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services. For full reviews, search the movie title at seattletimes.com.

3.5 stars "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" (PG): It's impossible not to be charmed by this animated rendering of the Seuss tale of environmental activism and the power of one person to make a difference, says Seattle Times movie critic Moira Macdonald. The film, about a young boy who goes on a quest to find a tree for the girl he wants to impress, features the voices of Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Betty White.

3 stars "Mia and the Migoo" (PG): The voice cast of this French/Italian (dubbed in English) animated adventure includes Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew Modine and Amanda Misquez, as a young girl whose journey takes her into the mysterious world of talking forest spirits known as the Migoo.

3 stars "Marley" (PG-13): Kevin Macdonald's documentary about reggae star Bob Marley.

2 stars "Blue Like Jazz" (PG-13): An evangelical Christian (Marshall Allman) abandons his faith and gets lost in misadventures at Portland's Reed College.

1.5 stars "Bel Ami" (R): Robert Pattinson plays a young man of modest means who climbs the social and political ladder by way of various women in 1890s Paris.
