New DVDs | 'Silent House,' 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi'
New DVD releases for Tuesday, July 24, 2012, include "Silent House," "Footnote" and "Brake."

"Silent House" (R): Elizabeth Olsen, Adam Trese, Eric Sheffer Stevens. A "girl in jeopardy" thriller set in a family's creaky old lake house that they're about to sell.
"Jiro Dreams of Sushi" (PG): David Gelb's documentary about 85-year-old sushi restaurateur Jiro Ono is a case study in the phenomenon of masterful craftsmanship and generational transition.
"Footnote" (PG) The story of a Talmudic scholar whose career appears to be eclipsed by his son's. "At its darkly comedic heart," writes Seattle Times movie critic Moira Macdonald, it "is a story of jealousy and rivalry."
"Brake" (Not rated.) Stephen Dorff stars as a Secret Service agent taken captive in New York in an elaborate terrorist plot to shut down Washington and assassinate the president.
