The fourth slice of the "American Pie" series comes out on DVD Tuesday. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services. For full reviews, search the movie title at seattletimes.com.
"American Reunion" (R): Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott are back for the gang's 13th high-school reunion. As reviewer Soren Andersen says, in this series "it's a man's world. Or rather, it's a world in which the men are boys. And boys will be naughty."
"Being Flynn" (R): Robert De Niro and Paul Dano play an estranged father and son in writer-director Paul Weitz's latest drama.
"The Flowers of War" (R): Chinese director Zhang Yimou revisits the 1937 massacre of Nanjing, formerly Nanking, by focusing on an American vagabond (Christian Bale) and two groups of young women — convent students and prostitutes — who find refuge at a church during the fighting. In English, Mandarin and Japanese, with English subtitles. No star rating provided.
