Summer fun: $1 movies on Tuesday mornings

Select area AMC theaters offer Tuesday-morning movies for $1.

Family-friendly movies for a buck are on screen at select area AMC theaters on the next three Tuesdays. Portions of the proceeds from the $1 tickets benefit Will Rogers Institute and Variety — The Children's Charity. Participating theaters are: Alderwood 16, Cascade Mall 14, Kent Station 14, Pacific Place 11 and Southcenter 16. Each movie begins at 10 a.m. The schedule: Tuesday: "Kung Fu Panda"; Aug. 3: "The Spiderwick Chronicles"; Aug. 10: "How to Train Your Dragon." (www.amcentertainment.com).
