Rihanna performed "Diamonds" on SNL over the weekend. I'm into the R&B star's song (expect a review of her upcoming "Unapologetic" album soon) but it was a shock to my eyes to see her visual effects, which I feel like borrow heavily from local designers Gif Lords and Bankie Phonezzz — aka Seattle's bleeding edge of psychedelic tumblr culture.
