Grave Babies performs in a front yard, neighbor hates it
...and then it was over. Local rock band Grave Babies performed a beautiful and unprintably titled song in a Capitol Hill front yard twice at 3 p.m. Saturday, in a performance lasting six minutes. Portland blog intothewoods.tv staged the happening and filmed it (great blog BTW — look out for their final edited music videos). The curse-word-loving band sounded even better than on the droney/longer recorded version of the song, on their "Gothdammit" EP. A few people gathered on the sidewalk and nodded their heads to the New Orderish music. I thought it was very nice — it struck me as one of the reasons people move to the area.
But the neighbor across the street hated it, shouting, "Get a real drummer!"
