No, former Chicago White Sox baseball player Frank Thomas has not moved to Seattle. Word on the street is The Big Hurt is the same producer as a local guy whose name rhymes with Shmegato Freebop — but those rumors are as yet unsubstantiated. In any case, Hurt's new track "The Loop" is worth listening to for fans of grainy/weird instrumental beats, recommended if you like Crazy Old Bat from Bellevue, or Actress from London. If none of that makes sense, and you're in the mood to try something new: how about press play, squint with your ears and see if you can hear the ghost of Sam Cooke.
