Music in the Pacific Northwest is on fire right now — a special type of fire that even this cold, rainy June weather cannot extinguish. For proof, check five promising Seattle concerts happening this week, almost all by local artists. Click the locations below for more info about each. And for your listening pleasure while puzzling over how many shows can fit into your life, here's a fresh new jam by Velella Velella:

"Amp Sweat" by Velella Velella

Art Show with OC Notes and P. Supremo at Hollow Earth Radio, 6/27

Another month, another installment of OC Notes' "Art Show," in which the local deejay takes over Internet radio station Hollow Earth and turns it into the Central District's most happening living room. Free; 9-11 pm

Truckasauras at Barboza, 6/28

Eastside/Seattle electronic band Truckasauras releases its third album "2012" soon, and has been staging a series of innovative events all over town to promote it. This concert is a collaboration with Sausage Skateboards, whose new videos will be on display. $5; 8 pm

Velella Velella at the Crocodile, 6/29

Seattle/Portland future-funk hasn't been the same since Velella Velella went on hiatus a few years ago. But the band has been practicing, writing new material, and should be back in fighting shape at the Croc. $8; 8 pm

Hausu at Cairo, 6/30

What's new with Hausu? A bunch of songs, is the word on the street. The high energy Reed College rock band returns to Seattle this weekend to burn up Cairo, figuratively. 8 pm

El-P and Killer Mike at Neumos, 7/1

It's hard to find a hip-hop album so far this year that matches the innovative music and brilliant lyrics of "R.A.P. Music," by producer/rapper El-P and Atlanta emcee extraordinaire Killer Mike. See it live at Neumos and understand the meaning of "southern fried dystopia." $18.50; 8 pm
