Free music: 'Concerts at the Mural' 2012 summer schedule
Local radio station KEXP is teaming up with Seattle Center again for the fourth annual "Concerts at the Mural," a free, outdoor, picnic-friendly concert series at the Mural Amphitheatre on the Seattle Center Campus. It happens on four Fridays in August.
Musically, the ghost of grunge will be present with local rock bands Love Battery and Brad — the former was a peer of Nirvana, Mudhoney and Soundgarden in the late '80s/early '90s; the latter features guitarist Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam.
Also on tap is plenty of rock music from the present day (Posse, Absolute Monarchs, Young Evils, BOAT, Wayfinders), hip-hop from Fresh Espresso and the mostly-acoustic No Depression night, named after the local, online roots music publication.
See the schedule below and look for more details at kexp.org and seattlecenter.com.
