Local artist Prometheus Brown (aka Geo of Blue Scholars) wrote an op-ed piece for The Seattle Times that's really a rap for the city. He performs it a cappella on Beacon Hill in the video above, shot by the Times' Aaron Lavinksy. The lyrics reflect on the recent rash of highly publicized shootings in Seattle. One in particular sticks out to me:

"Shots fired in the parking lot, nobody cares.
Shots fired in the coffee shop, everybody scared."

"Molly Moon" by BFA feat. Thig Nat and Prometheus Brown

Underage Seattle hip-hop duo Brothers from Another (BFA) releases its "Taco Tuesday" EP June 12, for free, at brothersfromanother.bandcamp.com. The first taste is "Molly Moon," which puts perma-smiling BFA rappers Cole and Tiglo alongside Thig Nat (The Physics) and our man Prometheus Brown. The bright, romantic song has Mr. Brown continuing the great Wu-Tang tradition of comparing women to scoops of ice cream.
