Seattle/Chicago: Secret Colors versus Secret Colours
![]()
Art by Casey Catherwood
There's a fresh wave of local music washing over Cairo on Capitol Hill Friday, June 15 — check out the flier above by Casey Catherwood, who's involved with the booking of the event and (full disclosure) my co-host over at the Mezzanine. The robust bill includes Secret Colors, aka Matt Lawson, whose tranquil "Water Mirror" album from last year is still in heavy rotation at my house while I plow through the Internet. Listen to his music below.
Below that, listen to Secret Colours — that's Colours, different spelling — from Chicago. Secret Colours plays earlier in Seattle the same week as Lawson, Tuesday, June 12, at Tractor Tavern in Ballard.
I know this happens. But still, kind of crazy.
